About me.
I’m John Sprainis — an engineer, leader, and explorer at heart. With over a decade of experience in aerospace and propulsion systems, I’ve led technical teams and managed cross-functional operations on groundbreaking projects, including Blue Origin’s Blue Moon lunar lander and advanced propulsion R&D for General Atomics. My passion lies in solving complex engineering problems while building high-performance teams that thrive under pressure.
Professionally, I’ve overseen everything from spacecraft crew systems integration and EVA interface development to startup manufacturing operations and multimillion-dollar factory buildouts. My journey has taken me from managing lean manufacturing strategies at Advanced Elastomer Technologies to serving as Senior Propulsion Lead for cutting-edge spaceflight initiatives — always with a focus on innovation, reliability, and execution.
Outside of work, I’m a dedicated husband and proud father who lives for adventure. I’ve traveled to some of the world’s most fascinating places, including Rapa Nui, Japan, Switzerland, Belize, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Austria, and Canada — often seeking out the most rugged and beautiful terrain they offer.
Whether I’m snowboarding fresh powder, offroading mountain trails in my classic Jeep, or heading into the wild for a weekend of hunting and fishing, I find balance and inspiration in the great outdoors.
Driven by curiosity, grounded by family, and committed to excellence — that’s the foundation of who I am, both personally and professionally.
